Peterborough · dual-channel retail · est. 2021

Two letters. Two ways to sell. One operator.

YG Venture Ltd is a general retail company. We run mixed-category floors when a customer still wants to walk a room, and we sell the same kind of goods when there is no shop, stall or market — parcels, private drops, programmes that live on a list rather than a high street.

01 — The venture

A retail company that does not need a specialist aisle to exist.

The name is not a fund and it is not a slogan. YG Venture Ltd was incorporated on 2 August 2021 as a private limited company in England and Wales. The registered office is 154 Hartley Avenue, Peterborough PE1 5FT. From that base we buy, hold and sell everyday goods that do not belong to a single precious category.

Companies House lists two activities: other retail sale in non-specialised stores, and other retail sale not in stores, stalls or markets. That is the whole design. A floor when a floor earns its rent. A remote channel when the goods travel better than the customer.

We are not a boutique and we are not a supermarket chain. We are an operator that will stand up a mixed range, kill a line that does not move, and keep a second door open so the business does not die with a lease. Buyers, landlords, local partners and households who order at a useful scale all use the same desk: info@yg-venture.online.

02 — Channels

Y is the floor. G is the field. Switch them.

Mixed retail floor with aisles of general merchandise

Non-specialised store retail

The in-store channel is a room that sells more than one kind of thing without pretending each aisle is a boutique. Household, personal, seasonal, convenience-adjacent lines sit together because that is how people actually shop when they are not hunting a single brand.

We set floors for partners who need a working mixed offer: a neighbourhood unit, a concession inside a larger space, a time-limited room. Planograms are written. Dead lines leave. The till is not a museum.

  • Range architecture for mixed floors
  • Fixture and facing notes, not mood boards
  • Weekly kill/keep on slow movers
  • Staff scripts that can be learned on a Monday
Parcels and packed goods ready for remote retail

Retail that does not need a shop

The field channel is the other half of the company: sale that does not live in a store, stall or market. Lists, parcels, scheduled drops, private bulk for clubs, offices and households that already know what they want.

The remote book is not a leftover of the floor. It is a channel with its own minimums, packing standard and return rule. If a line cannot survive a box, it stays on the floor. If a line cannot survive a floor, it stays in the field.

  • Packed goods with a readable contents note

03 — Ranges

General merchandise, named so a new member of staff can learn it.

Home goods

Home & hold

Small household, storage, the objects a mixed floor can sell without becoming a furniture dealership. If it needs a two-person lift, it is not our line.

Everyday provisions

Daily provisions

Convenience-adjacent goods that turn quickly. We do not pretend to be a grocer with a full cold chain. We stock what we can replenish honestly.

Personal care products

Personal

Toiletries, simple care, the basket that sits beside household. Labels readable. No line we cannot explain in one sentence at the till.

Seasonal goods

Seasonal

Short programmes with a kill date. Christmas, back-to-school, heat, frost. If it is still on the floor after the date, that is an ops failure, not a range.

Storage and organisation

Storage & kit

Boxes, bags, the unglamorous hardware of a household. High turn, low poetry. Perfect for both a mixed aisle and a repeating parcel.

Packaged goods on shelves

Packaged grocery-adjacent

Dry lines with dates we respect. We will not build a deli. We will keep a shelf of things people actually finish.

Simple grooming goods

Grooming, unfussy

A short personal edit. If a customer needs a consultation, they are in the wrong company. If they need a restock, they are in the right one.

Gift and seasonal wrap

Gift without theatre

Sets that can be packed. No velvet lies. A December parcel from YG is useful, dated, and gone by January.

04 — Operations

How the week actually runs from Hartley Avenue.

  1. Monday — stock truth

Counts, dates, the list of what did not move. The floor and the field share one book. A line that is live on the website and dead in the room is a lie we do not tell.

  2. Tuesday — buy or refuse

Replenishment against real velocity. We refuse deals that only look cheap if you ignore the back room. Peterborough is not a dumping ground for other people’s overbuy.

  3. Wednesday — pack and face

Remote orders leave. Floors are faced. Seasonal kill dates are checked in public, not in a forgotten spreadsheet.

  4. Thursday — partners

Landlords, local operators, bulk rooms. If a concession is underperforming we say so while there is still time to change the range, not after the quarter dies.

  5. Friday — the second door

Anything that should have been a parcel is moved to the field. Anything that should have been touched is moved to the floor. The venture is the switch, not the logo.

  6. Always — one desk

Exceptions, wholesale enquiries and complaints land on the same address. info@yg-venture.online is staffed by people who have seen the stock, not a chatbot that has seen a policy.

05 — Formats we have stood up

Rooms and lists, not theoretical decks.

A mixed unit that had too many specialists

A partner wanted seven mini-boutiques in 90 square metres. We cut it to four ranges with honest facings. Basket size rose because people could finish a shop. Poetry fell. That was the point.

An office that thought it needed a canteen

They needed a repeating drop of daily and personal lines, not a kitchen. We built a Thursday field list. Waste dropped. The “shop” they wanted was a cupboard with a schedule.

A seasonal room with no exit

December stock still staring in February is how mixed retail gets a bad name. We wrote a kill date into the buy and a field remainder programme so the floor could become a floor again.

06 — Operating log

Notes from the stock book.

A mixed floor is a sentence, not a warehouse

If you cannot say in one breath what the room is for, the customer will use it as a dumping ground for other people’s leftover ranges. We write the sentence on the planogram before we write the SKU list.

Remote retail is not a cheaper shop

Packing, exceptions and the cost of a return are the product. A line that looks profitable on the floor can be a loss in a box. We price the channel, not only the unit.

January is a kill month

Seasonal goods that survive New Year are a management failure. We would rather discount hard in week two than teach the room that dates are decorative.

Peterborough is a logistics city

We are here because the map works. Hartley Avenue is not a brand story. It is a place from which a van can leave and a count can be true by Monday.

Four years of two codes

The company is four years old. We have not added a third SIC to look busier. Floor and field is enough work if you actually do both.

Staff scripts beat brand films

A mixed store dies when nobody can explain the shelf. We write six sentences per range and test them on a new starter. If they cannot say them, the range is too clever.

07 — Before you write

Questions from the desk.

We operate mixed floors with partners and by programme, not a permanent high-street flagship with our name on the fascia every day. Write to info@yg-venture.online and we will tell you what is live this month, on a floor or in the field.

Both, at a useful scale. A single novelty item is the wrong ask. A repeating basket, a bulk drop or a partner floor is the right one.

Yes. The registered office is in Peterborough. The field channel is built for the United Kingdom. Floor programmes are taken where we can still see the stock.

Whether you need a floor, a field list, or both; the kind of goods; the volume; the date. Send it to info@yg-venture.online.
